The International Telcommunications Union (ITU) deploys 30 satellite terminals to help restore vital communication links in remote and underserved areas of Bangladesh, which has recently been ravaged by floods. Since the start of the monsoon season this year, nearly two-thirds of Bangladesh has been inundated with flood water.

Internet, e-commerce and gaming firm PacificNet secures a deal to provide consulting services to China Telecom's information directory services. Under the terms of the agreement, PacificNet will consult with the customer service supervisors at China Telecom's Jiangsu Branch to help them improve customer satisfaction with its directory service.

Telefonica and Nokia signs a deal to work together to provide Telefonica customers with access to both Telefonica and Nokia Internet services. The collaboration includes areas such as menu customization, technology and billing cooperation, the two firms said.
