The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has selected a consortium comprising Talian Gerak Alih, Unified Communications, and Telcordia to build and operate a mobile number portability clearinghouse. Implementation is scheduled for the first half of 2008.

Malaysia's Celcom hopes to sustain the 20% growth for the enterprise segment that it has achieved in the third quarter until year-end. The firm also recently signed an MVNO deal with REDtone Mobile Services.

Symantec launches its Norton Smartphone Security, a mobile security offering to provide a solution for both the Windows Mobile and Symbian OS. The product offers Norton AntiVirus technology as well as a firewall and antispam for SMS.
