Maxis myDeals members swell to 2.8m

Membership on Maxis myDeals, a permission-based mobile advertising service launched in Malaysia eight months ago, has reached 2.8 million. The opt-in community provides brands and merchants with opportunities for interactive and personalized advertising and customer relationship-building.

InMobi signs up with MMA

InMobi said it has joined the Mobile Marketing Association as a global premium member, the highest membership level. InMobi’s founder and CEO, Naveen Tewari, will also be appointed as an honorary member to the MMA global board.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launches portal

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched its mobile web portal developed by Netbiscuits, m.mercedes-benz.com.my. The mobile portal includes a virtual car showroom featuring the product's highlights, technical data, picture galleries, and pricing information.

Asia-Pac mobile ads up by 4.3b

The Asia Pacific market mobile ad market grew by 4.3 billion impressions in 90 days from the start of October 2010, a new report by InMobi shows. Smartphone impressions increased by over 1.5 billion monthly impressions, with Android nearly quadrupling to get 5% share of the regional market while Apple iPhone remained at the top with 11%.

Apps downloads neared 8b in 2010

Mobile applications downloads from all app stores reached a total of nearly 7.9 billion, according to ABI Research’s estimates. Of the total, the iPhone interface notched up more than 5.6 billion or about 71% of the total.
