Droid X with Froyo has enterprise potential

Backers of the MotorolaDroid X smartphone – including Adobe Systems and Verizon Wireless – which goes on sale July 15, said it has enterprise potential even when used as a multimedia player. The Motorola device has a spacious 4.3-inch screen, 1-GHz processor and ability to support an Adobe Flash 10.1 player.

iPhone worm can also infect iPads

PandaLabs has shown that the iPhone/Eeeki worm designed to infect iPhones can also compromise the iPad. Despite Apple totally closing off the hardware and the software, cyber-criminals have found a way to infect jailbroken devices with malware.

Akamai acquires services platform

Akamai Technologies has acquired “substantially all of the assets” of the mobile services platform Velocitude. The acquisition adds mobile content transformation functionality to Akamai’s existing suite of cloud services for optimizing web content and applications.
