NEC signs a frame contract with the French mobile carrier Bouygues Telecom to provide technical services network. NEC's 3G base station optimization solutions offer a variety of benefits based on NEC'S original radio wave propagation environment simulation tools.

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular unveil a range of eight au handsets to be released from mid-November. The range includes nine models, incorporating seven CDMA 1x WIM models; six which support One-Seg; and four with an organic EL display.

Canada Bell introduces the HTC Touch smartphone, a Windows Mobile handset which combines communication, entertainment and professional capabilities. Bell said the HTC Touch, with mobile browser feature, offers users the opportunity to add unlimited access to the internet.
