Novell has rejected a $2 billion offer from hedge fund Elliott Associates to take it private.

Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+),a subsidiary of National Electricity Company, is expanding its backbone network to Sumatra,

using Nokia Siemens Networks’ hiT 7300 DWDM optical network platform.

Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, the founders of Skype, have established a $165m new fund for “disruptive” software and internet technologies, FT.comreports.

New York-based data center operator Telxhas filed for a Nasdaq IPO that could raise as much as $100 million, GigaOm reports. Telx runs 15 data centers and made a net loss of $9.9m in 2009 on sales of $98.3m.

NTT DoCoMo says it is seeking new business opportunities in China through its subsidiary DoCoMo China, which currently provides mobile app solutions and systems for Japanese companies in China.
