Hong Kong's OFTA has received bids for wireless broadband spectrum. The bidders are China Mobile, CSL, Genius Brand (a JV between Hong Kong Telecommunications and Hutchison Telephone), Hong Kong Broadband Network and SmarTone.

Taiwanese operator Vmax has selected Samsung to provide base stations, access gateways and other equipment for the initial phase of a planned Wimax network rollout, The contract is worth T$500 million ($12-15 million).

Intec has announced it has won a contract to supply and implement its Total Service Mediation platform to Indian operator Aircel. Aircel will use the technology to gather, process, validate and distribute usage data from its network in real-time.

Internet shoppers worldwide spend an average of $78.69 per order, and view 9 pages per session, according to a new study of online buying habits conducted by Coremetrics. Online retailers see an average of 29.6 orders per 1,000 sessions.

Internode has launched ADSL2+ services on Telstra's network, after reaching an agreement to do so late last month. Plans range from A$69.95 ($49.18) for a 2GB download allowance, up to A$129.95 for 55GB.
