PCCW offers price-cap scheme, Android device

PCCW has introduced a mobile data intelligent price-cap scheme and launched Hong Kong's first U smart phone, powered by Android. Customers will receive full rebate for handset and enjoy the price-cap when they subscribe to PCCW mobile's “Web & Talk” plan.

ZTE eyes launch of Android smartphones in Q1

ZTE has joined the Open Handset Alliance and expects to launch Android-based smartphones in the first quarter of 2010. “With the growing trend and popularity of Android smartphones, ZTE is committed to invest in this platform to meet the market demand,” said Lin Qiang, GM of ZTE Smartphones.

Amobee acquires RingRing Media

Amobee Media Systems said it has entered into an agreement to acquire mobile advertising agency RingRing Media, but financial terms were not disclosed. The deal complements Amobee's operator-centric inventory and services portfolio.

ShoZu acquires Critical Path

ShoZu CEO Chris J. Wade said the company's acquisition of social media hub Critical Path allows a “seamless fit of our combined technology and approach to serving the market.” He said the “beneficial matchup for both companies, result(s)in a powerful capability” for sharing, communicating and collaborating on information.
