Sino Fibre Communications accepts additional investment from BarterXchangefor a 15% stake in Sino Fibre's joint venture, China Business Online, for $6 million. The proposed sale is subject to board approval.

Alcatel-Lucent signs a deal with Dialog Telecom, a Polish telecomms operator, to provide convergent payment solution for Dialog's mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services. Alcatel-Lucent will also integrate the platform with the core network of the mobile network operator.

Scopus Video Networks announces that the BBC has chosen Scopus' MPEG-4 encoders for use at the Beijing Summer Olympic Games. BBC will deploy Scopus' UE-9420 dense encoders for transmission of high quality video feeds from the Olympics to its London offices.
