PT Telkom brings 802.16d Wimax to Indonesia

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) has tapped PT Teknologi Riset Global to deploy a complete Wimax solution across Indonesia. The deployment is in support of a government decree to migrate existing services operating at 3.5GHz to the 3.3GHz spectrum while adhering to the 802.16d standard.

NEC deploys Wimax system for Taiwan operator

Tatung InfoComm has launched commercial Wimax services in Taiwan using a system that NEC deployed. The new services were launched in the southern prefecture of Pingdong and the eastern coastal prefecture of Hualian.
