Jennic has unveiled JenNet, a new free proprietary wireless networking stack for its range of 32-bit single chip wireless microcontrollers. Based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, it is specially designed to be easy to use and is fully scalable from just a few nodes to large networks of up to 1,000 nodes, the company says.

Complementing Jennic's existing ZigBee stack, which provides interoperability with other ZigBee devices and mesh networks, JenNet addresses a wide range of applications, including street lighting systems with long strings of nodes and large building management systems, Jennic says.
