Google has launched a new version of its Google Analytics app optimized for Apple's iPad.
The web giant first introduced a Google Analytics app designed for the iOS platform earlier this year, designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch family of devices.
“As an analytics user, having data at your fingertips is essential,” wrote Nikhil Roy, a product manager at Google in a brief Google+ post. “The new application… allows you to check real time usage and optimizes the view for your larger screen, giving you more of what you need to run your business—data.”
The new version of the Google Analytics app is optimized for the larger display area of the iPad tablet, and takes advantage of it by showing more charts, graph, and data in general. Aside from viewing from an iPad, an additional benefit is how it could be streamed wirelessly to a large high-resolution TV during meetings.
Above is a screenshot of the redesigned app on the iPad. Some of the reports include:
Real-Time: Paints a picture of the current visitors to a website.
Audience: Segregates visitors by metrics such as geographic region, how often and how long they engage with the content on a website, and what devices they use.
Acquisition: Shows how visitors arrive at the website in terms of organic traffic, or referrals.
Behavior: Reveals how visitors interact with a website, including statistics such as the total number of screens seen per session, the order in which screens are viewed and how long a typical session lasts.
The new Google Analytics app is a universal app that works on both the iPhone and iPad, and can be downloaded from the iTunes Store here.
