Akamai Technologies announced that GPShopper, a mobile solutions company whose offerings include mobile apps and websites built on a feature-rich mobile platform, has purchasedAkamai Aqua Web Experience Solutions to accelerate and optimize the delivery of its mobile technology.

GPShopper's customer base consists of national retailers and international brands whose apps and mobile websites generate hundreds of thousands of unique visitors and millions of page views per month.

As GPShopper's client base and service offerings continue to grow and evolve rapidly, the company was looking for a business partner that could help speed the delivery of content and services optimized for mobile technology. According toGoogle's Think Insights, this holiday season, 84% of smartphone shoppers will use their devices to help shop while in a physical store.
