Hutchison Global Communications and ChinaCache International Holdings, a provider of internet content and application delivery services in mainland China, have agreed to form a strategic partnership to jointly provide content delivery network (CDN) services in Asian markets.

The two companies will work together to tap markets in mainland China, Hong Kong, and other regions in South East Asia. It is a collaboration between ChinaCache and HGC’s international operations, the companies said.

ChinaCache will establish CDN and Cloud nodes at HGC’s data center with facilities, including hardware, software and cabinets, provided by HGC.

Song Wang, founder, chairman and CEO of ChinaCache said HGC has an extensive global footprint and a strong presence in Hong Kong, South East Asia and the Americas. ChinaCache will put its expertise in CDN together with HGC’s rich experience in managing world-class global network and data centers to provide quality services to more customers in Asia.

Andrew Kwok, president of international business at HGC, said ChinaCache’s CDN services will help enhance HGC’s service portfolio and its capabilities to access mainland China’s internet contents in terms of volume, speed and readiness for customers in Hong Kong and overseas.
