Facebook is the most popular media platform in Hong Kong in terms of user engagement, a TNS study shows.

Hong Kongers spend more time using facebook than visiting other online sites, watching TV or reading magazines, a survey shows.

More people in Hong Kong use Facebook (91%) than any other digital network, and the social media site is the first source of breaking news for 44% of respondents.

More than 58% of respondents had watched videos on Facebook, 42% had posted videos and links to videos, and up to 50 percent have searched for, brought or sold something on the site.

Facebook head of Greater China Said Jayne Leung said that around 4.4 million Hong Kong residents access Facebook each month.

Mobile penetration in the city is a whopping 238%, and 83% of homes are connected to high-speed internet services.
