HKT adds new features to m-payment service

HKT has expanded the functionality of its Tap & Go mobile payment service after securing one of Hong Kong's first Stored Value Facilities (SVF) licenses last month.

The operator has launched PayPartner, the market's first end-to-end mobile payment acceptance suite for the retail sector.

The new service supports payment methods including in-app, online, QR code and payment terminals. It is backed up by HKT's broadband network, cloud-based retail services, digital retail marketing platform, social Wi-Fi and analytics offerings.

HKT's Tap & Go has also introduced PayMaster, a family-based service designed to support up to five registered accounts per household. HKT is positioning the service as a way to allow parents to manage children's daily spending and other domestic expenses.

Tap & Go has meanwhile introduced support for Apple Pay, as well as instant peer-to-peer money transfer service PayBuddy 2.0 and the ability for allow customers to personalize their Tap & Go card face.
