HP's Procurve Networking Division is buying enterprise wireless LAN firm Colubris Networks, according to a FierceBroadbandWireless report.

Colubris specializes in public-access applications, most notably in the hospitality industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is expected to give HP a higher profile in the WLAN space and provide instant access to 802.11n products, which HP doesn't have in its Procurve product line.

Also, the deal will ultimately give HP a broader unified wired/wireless product line, which is important in closing large enterprise deals.
