Huawei plans to launch in 2010 a 56Mb/s HSPA+ (high-speed packet access plus) commercial solution that will enable operators to offer download speeds at twice what is available today.

The solution that features multi-carrier and MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) technologies was recently demonstrated successfully in Beijing at P&T/Wireless & Networks Comm China 2009.

Also, the solution allows operators currently using Huawei' s fourth-generation and 38xx series base stations a smooth evolution of their legacy networks to 56Mb/s HSPA+ networks via software upgrades alone.

Further, it allows operators to deploy leading edge networks at significant cost savings that ultimately protect their long-term investment.
