Huawei signed an agreement with Telefonica on cloud cooperation covering infrastructure, SDN networking, and NFV.

The two firms said the agreement was a “bilateral” effort aimed at further enhancing cloud services.

Enrique Blanco Nadales, CTO of Telefonica said the agreement will benefit Telefonica in its “network transformation.”

Ken Hu, rotating CEO and deputy chairman of Huawei added that

“The UNICA Infrastructure is an open and future-proof strategic framework that brings unique values to Telefonica.”

Huawei meanwhile said it also signed a “Tier Certification strategic cooperation” agreement with Uptime Institute, an international data center certification group.

Uptime Institute is an industry group offering data center availability and reliability standards formulation.

With the development of data services globally, an increasing number of enterprises and users will migrate their IT services to carrier data centers for trusteeship. This creates high demand for reliability, especially for financial businesses, the group said.
