5G will be all about densification, but in most cases, operators will not densify their whole networks evenly, but will ‘cherry pick’ locations where they can see business benefit – where traffic levels and QoS demands are particularly high, and where that demand can be monetized.
This paper defines the drivers for hyperdense networks. It sets out ‘how dense is hyperdense’ and considers other use cases enabled by hyperdense networks that look beyond raw data capacity, and help to improve the overall business case for densification.
