Irdeto has partnered with Samsung and SMiT to launch a broadcast Direct-2-TV (D2TV) service that lets Indonesian consumers view Transvision satellite TV programs without a set-top box.

This is made possible by integrating Irdeto’s Keys & Credentials service and Conditional Access System (CAS), with SMiT’s USB Conditional Access Module (CAM) and a range of Samsung TVs that do not require IP connectivity.

For Transvision, the partnership will allow it to enjoy additional cost efficiency, by removing the need for STB hardware and installation costs.

Consumers can purchase selected Samsung TVs to enjoy a superior viewing experience, with access to both TV and USB CAM through a single remote control.
