Vitesse Semiconductor has debuted its new SparX-III family of GE switches, which have been designed to speed the transition to “green” networks.
The chipsets, VSC7420, VSC7421 and VSC7422, support EcoEthernet 2.0 technology, and up to 12 integrated PHYs, to enable power consumption at higher density.
With this level of power consumption the family do not need a cooling fan, reducing the cost and noise of a switching solution.
