Singaporean operator M1 has launched a handset loan program that will allow customers to get a new phone every nine months.

The Take3 program allows customers to choose from a range of cellphones based upon their billing plan. Customers may also replace their handset with a different model after nine months for a small fee, or for free after 20 months.

"Singaporeans love their mobile phones and are always on the lookout for great phone deals. [Customers] can now choose not to purchase any handset but yet have the privilege of using of any of the latest handset models," said M1 acting CEO Karen Kooi.

The program applies to M1's mobile plans over S$19.26 ($12.59) per month. The most expensive handset is the LG KF900 Prada II, which retails in Singapore for around S$1,000. This handset is restricted to the highest pricing tier, S$201.16 per month.
