Malaysian firm Global Transit Communications has built a next-generation network with Juniper Networks infrastructure platforms, including EX Series Ethernet switches and M Series multiservice edge routers.

Global Transit is a key participant in the Unity Cable Project, a consortium of six international carriers working together to install a 10,000 km, 7.68-Tbps transatlantic cable connecting Japan to the United States.

The EX Series switches and M Series routers deliver the scale and performance Global Transit requires to support the high bandwidth generated by Unity, as well as growing demand for Global Transit’s other new services.

The switches will be deployed at the edge of Global Transit’s network to deliver carrier-class reliability, security risk management, network virtualization and application control at a reduced total cost of ownership.
