Malaysia's Maxis has commenced a career transition scheme to find new jobs for employees impacted by the company's restructuring program.

The company has since June been working to streamline its organisational structure, in a bid to become more competitive and better address the changing demands of customers.

Maxis is converging its operations into the areas of Consumer Business, Enterprise Solutions, Digital Services and Sales & Services.

The scheme will help affected employees find jobs at other companies, by providing career and job search information and consultations with employees. The company will also operate a toll-free helpline.

“Arising from [the] refinement exercise, there will be roles in the Company that will be impacted,” Maxis joint COO Nasution Mohamed said.

“This will allow us to align employee skill sets with our business priorities, and for the employees who decide to take up the scheme to pursue other interests.”

He said Maxis expects to complete the transition scheme next month.
