MediaCorp unveils pay-TV channel in Indonesia

Singapore’s MediaCorp has launched a new pay-TV channel in Indonesia.

The new pay-TV channel is a 24-hour Mandarin channel available on Indonesia’s main pay television operator Indovision’s Channel 151 from Saturday, a report said. The channel will reportedly source content from MediaCorp’s library.

Chang Long Jong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MediaCorp was quoted sa saying that the company sees this “as an opportune time to start an aggregated channel” in Indonesia.

“The inauguration of 8i represents a new milestone for MediaCorp. This channel penetration helps us further extend the reach of our Chinese dramas overseas and at the same time, generates new revenue stream for the company,” the executive said.
