EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) infrastructure allows carriers and SP (Service Providers) the opportunity to broadcast TV by overlaying the video signal on their existing EPON infrastructure using an additional wavelength. This paper provides a general background on EPON systems and describes the opportunities and merits of passing video Overlay on EPON systems.
