The total mobile infrastructure market grew 15% year-over-year in the third quarter of 2011, up by double digitsfor the fourth consecutive period, according to Dell’Oro Group.

4G LTE network infrastructure spending accounted for 44% of third-quarter growth, driven by the need to address an expected influx of LTE-capable handsets in 2012.

The wireless industry is responding to changes in user behavior and accelerating data demand by shifting priorities towards Evolved Packet Core, voice over LTE and LTE radio equipment.
