NBN Co, the company building Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN), is enhancing the fiber network to help Australian businesses better utilize high-speed broadband.

The new NBN for Business will enable service providers to to run up to 50 voice services over the fiber network, NBN Co said. The service offers seven-day-a-week support and a one-hour response time to incidents.

Jim Hassell, Head of Product Development and Sales for NBN Co, said the tailored packages for businesses would also allow service providers to make use of new digital tools to increase productivity.

"By embracing new technologies, Australian businesses can become more agile and responsive to their customers' needs, potentially lower their operating costs and open up new markets," he said.

Internode, iiNet, M2/iPrimus, and Macquarie Telecom will be among the first ISPs to offer business-specific services using the NBN for Business enhancements.
