Taiwan's Global Mobile Corp. and NextWave Wireless have announced a partnership aimed at developing end-user Wimax devices.

The two companies will deploy a Wimax field trial and demonstration network in Taipei, according to NextWave.

The trial network will use NextWave's MXtvTM technology while end-user devices will run NextWave Wimax chipsets and software from PacketVideo, the company's wireless subsidiary.

These devices will take advantage of Wimax in improving the delivery of multimedia services such as mobile TV, interactive media services, and digital audio.

Global Mobile was awarded license to operate Wimax in October 2007.
