Micro Technologies has developed Micro Students Attendance Management System (SAMS) that will, among other features, force students to swipe a card into the RFID reader before entering the classroom. Students won't be able to swipe a friend's card as the device is biometrically enabled and will allow only the owner to swipe the card.

According to Expressbuzz.com, a webcam will capture the image of each student and send all the data to a server where parents can monitor it. A weekly report of attendance and performance can be sent via SIMS or email. Bad news students, over 400 Indian colleges will be implementing SAMS throughout the country.
