Nokia Siemens wins $253m deal from Henan Mobile

(SinoCast via NewsEdge) Nokia Siemens Networks won a deal valued at 180 million euros ($253 million) from Henan Mobile, the telecommunications solutions supplier announced.

Nokia Siemens is scheduled to provide GSM and EDGE network facilities, technologies and services for Henan Mobile, its largest client in China. It will become the sole EDGE supplier for the carrier.

Nokia is a major provider for Henan Mobile's GSM network expansion project since 1995, and is also the latter's sole GSM/GPRS core network supplier.
It is also a key supplier of mobile wireless network in the Chinese central province of Henan.
