Telecom Asia's editorial team has finalized the shortlist of the top technology providers for its first Readers' Choice Awards. After consulting with a team of industry experts, Telecom Asia has narrowed down the list of nominations to three to four finalists in each of 15 categories.

Leading the list of nominees are Huawei, with nominations in six categories, and Ericsson, nominated in four categories. Other equipment suppliers nominated in more than one category are Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Intec, Motorola, Nokia Siemens, UTStarcom and ZTE.

Nominations were open to analysts and consultants between October 2 and 15. A total of 78 analysts, consultants and high-level telco executives submitted almost 1,000 nominations. Nominations were evaluated on market data from research firms and the specific input from our panel of telecom experts.

Voting for the best equipment suppliers is now open and will close on October 28. Winners will be notified on October 31. Voting is open to all telecom service providers in the region.

The awards are held to recognize the technology innovations and accomplishments of the top telecom vendors operating in Asia Pacific. Winners will be announced at a cocktail ceremony on December 8 in Hong Kong.
