NTT Com and Virtela Technology Services announced that NTT Com’s acquisition of Virtela has been completed.

The acquisition creates a single provider with sophisticated platforms and global network services capable of fulfilling not only current enterprise connectivity needs, but also emerging requirements for hybrid MPLS and Internet networks to establish more flexible, secure and high-speed access to cloud services. Service and operational integration will be completed this year, while customers will continue to enjoy NTT Com’s service quality and Virtela’s award-winning customer support, without any service migration or changes.

Virtela Founder Vab Goel will be chairman of Virtela’s board, said, “Together, the NTT Com and Virtela team is looking forward to transforming the networking market on a global basis. Leveraging a shared cloud vision and passion for innovation and customer support will accelerate creation of more advanced services that eliminate the complexity and expense of traditional enterprise network approaches.”
