Japan's NTT Communications has widened the reach of its IP network, opening up two new PoPs in Jakarta.

The company will use the PoPs to offer IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack access to its IP network, which Renesys estimates in the world's the second largest network among Tier 1-IP network providers.

NTT Com will provide services to domestic ISPs and content providers, and to foreign companies delivering services in Indonesia.

Also on offer will be a range of ICT offerings covering data centers, data network services and cloud services.

Demand for network services could be high – NTT Com estimates that international IP traffic is growing at a CAGR of over 80% in the large market.

NTT Com appears to be on something of an expansion drive. In August, the company purchased a controlling stake in collaboration service provider Arkadin, while in June, it acquired 74% of Thai data center services provider Digital Port Asia.
