NTT Communications has rolled out an an updated version of its Global Super Link wide-area Ethernet service, called Global e-VLAN, which has connected seamlessly with the company's domestic wide-area Ethernet service e-VLAN (Category1).

NTT Com said the service provides multipoint-to-multipoint Ethernet connections, and users will be able to communicate between their offices in Japan and other countries by connecting their e-VLAN and Global e-VLAN as a unified layer 2 network. This will enable the customer to use the global network as an extension of LAN and give flexibility in IP address design.

Global e-VLAN is already offered in the US, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China and South Korea. More countries will be added gradually.
