NTT Data has arranged to use Dimension Data's Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) to reduce its operational costs and increase the efficiency of its corporate backup system.

Dimension Data MCP is designed to address enterprise concerns around cloud technology by delivering low-latency access to secure public, private and hosted private cloud services.

NTT Data selected Dimension Data MCP due to its ability to deliver a platform that combines technology from Cisco and EMC.

The MCP enabled NTT Data to switch to a solution that could offer flexible and extensive system auditing to ensure all of its critical data is handled securely.

"With this showcase, we plan to utilise cloud services in the market. As an ICT provider, we also wanted to ensure the systems we use internally are constantly improving and optimizing the services we deliver,” according to NTT Data's manager of system development for the project.

“Collaborating with Dimension Data will enable us to lead IT initiatives through the creation of hybrid cloud models and access to a variety of services."

With the adoption of cloud environments becoming a top priority among enterprise IT decision makers, many are still concerned about the levels of security provided by public cloud services, particularly in the handling of personal or sensitive data.
