Nippon Telegraph and Telephone has clinched a deal with China Mobile to send Japanese manga in the country through 3G services.

NTT group unit NTT Solmare will begin to distribute e-comics in Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces as early as November, with the price set at 0.5 yuan per instalment.

This follows the launch last September of e-comics service in India through a partnership with Tata Teleservices.

Japanese Toppan Printing will also begin distributing manga to cell phones in Taiwan through e-book subsidiary Bitway.
