The Open Mobile Terminal Platform has released its mobile terminal testing recommendation document, which is aimed at simplifying the automated testing of different devices, and reduce the time to market for new devices and services.
OMTP said that inherent in the implementation of these recommendations is the potential for significantly reduced testing costs by manufacturers, operators and application developers.
Tim Raby, OMTP\'s managing director said the testing of devices and services is currently overcomplicated due to a prevailing fragmented approach, but implementation of the recommendations will ease the process for all parties involved.
With the multitude of devices on today\'s market, the development, testing and launch of both the device and of applications and services can be a complex and long process - especially with much of testing still done manually.
