SingTel Optus, Australia's second-largest telecom player, has upgraded its Intec convergent billing system to the latest version 6.0 status.

Intec says the scalability and performance of its retail billing, interconnect billing and convergent mediation systems have allowed SingTel Optus to grow at a steady pace in a highly competitive and mature market.

SingTel Optus says one of the biggest benefits that it has derived from the system is the ability to do the configuration itself, reducing overall costs and giving the company much better understanding of the configuration.
