PCCW Global and SAP Digital Interconnect have signed an agreement to merge their respective IPX domains into a single domain to create a global, independent, full-service IPX offering.

The partners will combine their footprints into a single IPX offering that they will use to provide services including GRX, LTE data roaming, diameter and bandwidth-on-demand.

Other new and expanded services will include SCCP, VoLTE, VoIPX and advanced analytics functions.

Customers will be able to take advantage of SAP’s LTE roaming footprint and PCCW Global’s advanced IPX voice and VoLTE capabilities over a single dedicated network connection.

The companies announced that Hong Kong operator CSL, a fellow subsidiary of PCCW Global’s parent entity HKT, will be the first user of the combined IPX domain.

PCCW Global president of mobility and digital services Ronnie Klingner said the combined IPX domain will help mobile operators address challenges including soaring data traffic growth and demand for LTE by offering new services including state-of-the-art ENUM capabilities.

“PCCW Global and SAP Digital Interconnect aim to provide best-of-breed IPX services to their existing and new customers, offering one of the largest and most far-reaching on-net connectivity solutions in the industry which combine a comprehensive suite of both IPX and VoLTE services,” he said.
