M1 chairman steps down

M1 chairman Lim Chee Onn has resigned from the board of directors, and has been replaced by fellow director Teo Soon Hoe.

Lim, who is the chairman of Keppel Corporation, has been a member of the M1 board since 1 November 1999. Teo is senior executive director and group finance director of Keppel Corporation. He is also chairman of Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation and Keppel Philippines Holding.

Sony CEO takes control of electronics group

Sony CEO and chairman Sir Howard Stringer has added the role of president to his portfolio, assuming direct control of its struggling electronics division. Stringer replaces Ryoji Chubachi, who has been moved sideways as vice-chairman in charge of safety, quality and environmental issues.

Trujillo to leave Telstra on June 30

Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo will leave the company on June 30 after four controversial years at the helm. Ending weeks of speculation, the company has confirmed that Trujillo will leave Telstra and return to the US. By the time Trujillo leaves, Telstra chairman Donald McGauchie says the carrier will have already found a replacement.
