Palm elects new board member
Palm announced the election of Bill Coleman, founder, chairman and CEO of Cassatt, to its board of directors. Coleman also was a co-founder and first chief executive officer of BEA Systems, an infrastructure-software company.

NEC appoints radio communications sales chief
NEC, a technology provider of carrier- and enterprise-class IT, network and visual display solutions, announced the appointment of James Limanowski as the central regional sales manager for NEC's Radio Communications Systems Division (RCSD). Limanowski will oversee sales, networking and promotional activities required to expand NEC's microwave offerings.

Metro Ethernet Forum re-elects Hatteras tech exec
Hatteras Networks announced that Matthew Squire, company CTO, was re-elected to the board of directors of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). Squire has been an active member of the MEF since its inception, providing technical leadership by serving as editor of the group's development of the service operations, administration and maintenance specifications.

VitalStream names EVP for global marketing and sales
VitalStream, a provider of audio and video streaming, named Michel Maeso as the company's EVP of global sales and marketing. Maeso will oversee the company's worldwide sales and marketing operations and is charged with expanding both global revenues and the VitalStream brand through a new aggressive sales and marketing strategy.
