An ingenious cellphone application is helping 5,000 farmers in India remotely access their irrigation pumps.
With the Nano Ganesh app farmers can use their phones to check the power and turn the pumps on or off as needed, saving long travel distances in inclement weather in many cases.
The application earned Ossian Agro Automation a place in the finals of Nokia\'s Calling All Innovators Contest held in Barcelona, Spain, according to livemint.com.
