ZTE has launched two new data cards - the MF662, a compact HSDPA+ data card which offers download rates of up to 21.6Mbps; and the MF646, a 3G USB TV data card.

Qualcomm has announced a new chipset, the Mobile Station Modem (MSM) 7227, which has been designed to enable handset makers to develop sub-$150 smartphones. The chipset utilizes HSDPA/HSUPA technology and can support every major mobile OS.

Huawei has staged a demonstration of the first unified FDD/TDD LTE solution. The company said it owns 10% of all LTE patents, and its LTE research has made more than 2,100 contributions to the technology.

Sybase 365 has launched SMS Locator Service, which allows customers to receive directions to destinations nearest their location.

JinnySoftware has unveiled a mobile marketing and advertising suite. Targeted at operators wanting to earn revenue directly from advertisers, it can manage nearly every aspect of a mobile marketing campaign.

Acision has launched what it says is the world's first open service text architecture, the Acision Text Suite. The suite will allow operators to tailor SMS services to their individual markets.

Sony Ericsson has launched four new panels for the Xperia X1 - a CNN news panel, a Skype panel, a Mytopia games panel, and an On the Road panel designed for drivers.
