PT Indosat overhauling OSS environment
Indonesia’s PT Indosat is completely replacing its OSS environment to help develop, provide and support new enterprise services.
The operator announced it has contracted NEC Indonesia and NetCracker to help conduct a large-scale OSS transformation.
The vendors will provide an OSS platform consisting of multiple Netcracker products supporting functions including resource inventory, discovery and reconciliation, network planning and design, as well as service order, activation and information management.
The contract also covers the delivery of professional services including analysis, design, configuration, integration and operational support.
NetCracker will also take responsibility for migrating data from in-house resources to the new OSS environment.
“NetCracker’s consolidated OSS solution will provide us with a number of critical advantages,” PT Indosat CTO John Martin Thompson commented.
“[These include] a reduction in the cost and effort needed to maintain numerous platforms and the ability to augment customer experience by acquiring better insight into customer- and network-facing operations.”
Once operational, the companies expect that the new platform will help Indosat reduce capex and opex, generate more revenue through providing a superior customer experience and reduce the time it takes to provision new services.
