Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) has unveiled SMART - a Satellite Mutual Aid Radio Talkgroup - on the company's nationwide push-to-talk satellite network, The new service is conceived and administered in conjunction with the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The SMART program allows law enforcement and public safety officials authorized by the DOJ to participate in a nationwide two-way satellite radio talkgroup. By using MSV's unique push-to-talk satellite technology, each group member can either listen to or join in the conversation taking place over the talkgroup.
MSV is making this talkgroup available without additional cost to MSV's public safety customers.
