British Comedian Lee Hurst is among a new breed of on-stage performers not willing to let cellphone use go unanswered while performing. At a recent gig in Surrey he grabbed the phone of an audience member, issued a 'four-letter tirade' and put the phone on permanent mute.
Hurst was only following the proud tradition that includes actor Laurence Fishburne who interrupted Broadway's The Lion in Winter performance to yell 'turn that *** phone off' and Kevin Spacey's 'Tell them we're busy' retort to the owner of a ringing phone during The Iceman Cometh.
