The global markets for Ethernet and IP MPLS VPN services are set to reach a combined $68.2 billion in 2014.

The markets continued to grow in 2009 relatively unscathed by the economic downturn, and this growth trend will only continue as recovery dawns, according to Infonetics Research.

And increasing demand for data-centric wireless services is at the same time creating what Infonetics describes as a “wholesale bonanza for wireless backhaul.”

Service provider revenue from Ethernet services grew 23% in 2009 to $20.8 billion, and IP/MPLS VPN service revenue grew 12% over the same period.
