Savvis expands global footprint, opens Singapore and London facilities

Savvis announced that will be opening new data centers in Singapore and London, and expanding its existing centers in the US as part of a global expansion.

The firms said the expansion is required to meet growing market demand for its enterprise cloud, managed hosting, network services and colocation services.

In Singapore, the company is investing S$100 million in a new data center, dubbed SG2, a 53,000-square-foot facility that includes 32,000 square feet of raised floor space, adding to its existing 33,000-square-foot facility, which includes 18,000 square feet of raised floor of space.

Savvis now operates more than 50 data centers throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Approximately 220,000 square feet of new gross raised floor space is being created as a result of the seven-city expansion, bringing the total data center space available through Savvis to more than 2 million square feet
